Rescue Squad members extricate a victim from a vehicle

The purpose of the Rescue Squad is to provide no-cost, exceptional emergency service to Cannon County by recruiting, retaining and managing a corps of enthusiastic, professionally trained volunteers to staff heavy rescue vehicles outfitted with cutting edge technology.
One of the most common jobs asked of the Rescue Squad crewmembers is  using hydraulic rescue tools (aka Jaws of Life) to extricate patients trapped in vehicles after accidents or trapped in industrial machinery.
Besides responding to emergencies and keeping the equipment operational, our biggest effort is training. Our members undergo intensive training annually year. We also maintain a continuing education program to keep everyone from the chief to the newest volunteer current with the latest techniques.
