School Dress Code 2001-2002
The Cannon County Board of Education has adopted a Dress Code for
the coming School year (2000- 2001)effective 8/15/2000. The code
will affect both students, and the professionals teachers &
staff members. The Code for the students is as follows.
1,
No caps, hats, bandannas, visors, or sunglasses.
2, No body piercing, except for ears.
3, No article of clothing or accessory with reference to drugs,
death, alcohol, violence, sex, profanity, tobacco or with names or
pictures of people or events that promote such things, including
wrestling.
4, Shirts/blouses/dresses and all outfits must have sleeves and
cover midriff AT ALL TIMES.
5, Fitted shorts in solid color twill or denim must be no shorter
than 3 inches above the knee.
6, Pants or overalls should be full length and fitted and should not
be too tight or too loose as to cause a distraction.
7,Clothing must be hemmed and contain no holes, cuts, tears, or
frays.
8, Skirts or dresses must be at least knee length.
9, No exposed undergarments or revealing clothing.
10, No trench coats or western dusters.
11, No distractive clothing or appearance (Students shall not wear
excessive jewelry, dog collars, Gothic or gang-related paraphernalia
or dress. hair color must be in the natural spectrum.)
12, wind suits are allowed as long as they do not open down the side
- no sweat suits or sweat pants.
Consequences
Students will be disciplined according to School board Policy and
student dress will be brought into compliance.
The
Professional Teacher/Staff Dress Guidelines.
It is the teacher's/staff member's responsibility to dress in a manner
that is professional and to set a proper example for the students
he/she influences.
1, Knee-length dressy short/skorts with tights/hose may be worn.
2, No body piercing, except ears.
3, Shirts/blouses/dresses and all outfits must have sleeves.
4, Skirts or dresses must be knee length or longer.
5, No revealing clothing, including low-cut tops, midriffs or
revealing slits in skirts.
6, Jeans with a school shirt may be worn on Fridays.
7, No sweat pants or warm-up pants.
8, Jeans or knee-length shorts in solid color twill or denim may be
worn for special events with PRIOR approval of Principal (field
trips, field days).
9, In teaching positions that require alternative dress, he/she must
have prior approval of the Principal.
